Classroom Examples

In a survey conducted by Seesaw among 300 K-12 classroom teachers after at lease four months Seesaw experiencing (2014), the researchers found that 98% of the teachers found themselves were guiding students to use technology products more effectively and also, more than 90% of them report that Seesaw enables their students more concentrate on their learning and contribute more efforts in completing the assignments. You'll find some of the instructional strategies that can be used for your class in the following paragraphs.

Grade Level: Kindergarten

Example: The teacher in this website offers 5 examples that can be modified to your own classes. She uses Seesaw to document students’ works and connect parents by inviting them to join in the process. You may be inspired by her activities during which the students record a video to read the words they grouped with the letter blocks.

Grade Level: Elementary School

Example: Several class examples of various subjects and grade levels are provided in this website. They are all based on the major function of Seesaw such as uploading images, videos, notes, annotation with images, and PDF files. Please check it to get some idea of how you can use Seesaw in your own settings.

Subject: Math, English, Science

Grade Level: First Grade

Example: The teacher gives a Seesaw tutorial. You can scroll down to the place where you'll see the images of classroom children playing with Seesaw on iPad. The unique point for this example is the teacher using it as a synchronous assessment tool, through which she asks students to upload the work they are doing and she can give feedback if needed.

Grade Level: Elementary School

Example: The teacher shares with us her experience using Seesaw in her classroom from November 2014. The highlight of this example is the fact that the teacher connects well with the parents though Seesaw. She records the video in which the student shows he can count money to show his progress in learning to his parents. Check out the link to know more about it.

Grade Level: Grade 2

Example: This example will show you how Seesaw can be combined with other applications. The link will take you to a short video in which the boy is making a book trailer with his voice narration. The video is first created with Chatterpix, which is a tool to make any object talking. Then the exported video is uploaded to Seesaw and shared with the class.

Grade Level: Kindergarten

Example: In this post, the teacher uses Seesaw to teach kids some positional words. She first let students put an object at some place inside the classroom and then a picture is taken with their iPad. The children are required to record their voices along with the image in which they should make up a sentence using the positional word.
